Oriental Express

Wearing vintage oriental jacket, Cotton On men's tshirt, Sportsgirl jeans, Sachi wedges and Bardot necklace

Hope you like this one. Coco took the photos. We went op shopping the other day and found heaps of goodies. I went to Christies Beach with my Tom on Monday and we found some pretty awesome things, an 80s acid washed denim jacket included, this lacy cropped top and others.

It's my friend Bianca's birthday today! She just turned 21 and her party is this Saturday. Since it's a white themed party, I'll be wearing my off white lace dress from Topshop. Still haven't decided which shoes I'm gonna wear. I also have another 21st this Friday. Will be wearing a black Sportsgirl dress. The dress is too hard to describe, you'll just have to see photos!

xx, Amanda

To the beach we go

Wearing diy bleached denim jacket, vintage lace top, Forever 21 tank, vintage pleated skirt, Siren shoes and vintage leather patchwork bag.

That was a nice sunny day. Tom and I went to Chinatown for lunch. We took these photos at one of the carparks. Found this cute little vintage store there. I forgot what it's called but will definitely go back to check it out. Seriously wish this crappy rainy weather would stop! I'm sick of being cold, I want summer already!

My Milieu

Very Very! dress | Vintage corset | Tristan Blair Suesan shoes

Meet my room. Usually I can't walk in it, so this is a vast improvement. Amanda gave me this awesome corset and styled it better than I ever could and on top of that took photos AND she helps clean my room on a regular basis, so really, this post is all because of her!

These spectacular shoes are courtesy of Sportsgirl, who never brought Tristan Blair to Adelaide but there was a handful of stock left on Commercial Rd when I was in Melbourne, and who was I to resist? I feel honoured to have these patent salmon pieces of heaven grace my feet.

S'il vous plaît ma cherie, allez tomber la chemise

Vintage hat | Vintage Sportsgirl denim dress | Sportsgirl floral tights | Sportsgirl lace-up shoes

Parlez-vous Francais? Oui! Or...non.

The last time this hat (from Melbourne's Camberwell market) saw daylight, a lady with a hunched back and tobacco-infused clothing swiped past me, mumbling: 'Go back to the sixties, woman!' I told her to go back to Frankston. (In my head, because I'm nice. hah.)

Remember my name

Finally finished my FINAL MAJOR REPORT of the year and just printed it out! Woo hoo! Just got to get it bound and hand it in tomorrow. So glad that it's finally mid semester holidays. Tom and I will be going down to Christies Beach to check out the op shops there. I'm not sure if it'll be good or not cos it's pretty popular, so all the good stuff will probably be gone.

Anyway, I had a really good time hanging out with Coco today. I was supposed to go over to use her overlocker but we ended up taking photos instead.

I wore red lipstick (Coco's) for the first time today. Note to self, get red lipstick!

Wearing vintage gold jacket, leotard, Levi's cut-off shorts, bag and scarf, Witchery sunglasses and Wittner boots

I got this awesome vintage gold jacket when I was out shopping in Malaysia with my friend Nina. She took me to this little shop that was tucked in behind a whole row of shops and restaurants in the biggest mall in South East Asia, called the Mid Valley Mega Mall. I also got a silk purple patterned blazer and a black textured bodycon dress. Shopping in Asia is so much fun!

The City to Bay Fun Run is this Sunday! Woo hoo! Good luck to everyone who's taking part. Coco and I did the 12km run last year and it was so much fun (minus the muscle aches after)! I decided to give up this year because I am so freaking unfit. I'm thinking it will be very busy down at the bay this weekend. Hope the weather is lovely!

We are free people

Free People Clothing are shipping to Australia now! Oh yeah! Have you seen the gladiator looking shredded converse? So cool, falling in love this very second.

Photobucket

These are just some of the other stuff I like from the site. Don't these studded sneakers stand out? The red just stands out. I've got a pair of Converse but mine are starting to falling apart. Time for new ones?

I must say, the prices are pretty reasonable. Plus we can finally get Jeffrey Campbell here. I don't think they ever shipped here before? Or maybe they did from Karmaloop.

I'm liking these Emma Cook boots from Topshop. I'm seriously thinking of getting them. I'm still not sure which ones yet though. It's either this burgundy one or the zebra print and black one in my previous post. What do you think?

The shopping list

Polyvore is very addictive. I love it though. The boyfriend said something along the lines of "Thank God it's not real or you'll be really broke by now". What he said is so true.

Shopping List
Clockwise from top left: Emma Cook for Topshop Ankle Boots, Rojas Vintage Floral skirt, RVCA Fierce Racerback tank, Topshop floral leggings, Tony Bianco (Alexander Wang knock-off) shoes, Camilla and Marc gold jacket and Topshop Larissa Patent Velcro Sandal

Accessories
Clockwise from top left: Mimco Voodoo Snake Choker, Samantha Wills Mayfair Bracelet, Mimco Graduate Shield Necklace, Christian Louboutin Miss Clichy Boots, Mimco Pearl Explosion Bracelet, Thomas Sabo crow charm, Marc by Marc Jacobs Bombay Satchel and Mimco Modern Speakeasy Ring.

Ok, so I just need about $10000 to buy everything in this post. Maybe more, I don't really wanna get the exact cost cos I'm probably going to end up really depressed. Time for bed now.

xx Amanda

Lavender Kisses

Witchery cardigan | Vintage crochet crop top | Cotton On bandeau | Vintage silk maxi skirt | Vintage Diana Ferrari sandals | Cotton On ring

Sportsgirl stylist Jade encouraged me to try knotting a crop top and I am very grateful for her tips. I am indeed aware that the cardigan wasn't the best choice of styling, but hey, I was cold. Loving my Camberwell market buys: brand new Maybelline Classic Red lipstick for $2.50 and Jesus sandals for $10!

My Sportsgirl Weekend in Melbourne

Superflagship is the only way to put it. Chadstone is just super in general.

In the Style Me studio
Adam + Eve leather jacket | TV for Sportsgirl top | Sass & Bide Smokey Gitane jeans | Rubi brogues | Vintage Jane Shilton bag
Shady Lady eye shadow in Brown | Get Cheeky in Bronze | Lighten Up gloss in Talk of the Town - all from Sportsgirl

Some of you may be aware that I recently won Sportsgirl's 'Speak Up' competition, which included a trip to Melbourne and a $1000 Sportsgirl wardrobe. I haven't been to Melbourne since I was about 10, so I had a great time and am very grateful to the lovely team at Sportsgirl. I was driven to the superflagship store in Chadstone by the very same driver that took Ruby Rose last week - he asked me whether I was famous too! Talented stylist Jade took care of me in the lovely Style Me studio, where I was again treated like a VIP. After getting nowhere near $1000 worth of apparel (I couldn't possibly decide in one day and am spending it gradually), I received a mini-makeover from their in-house makeup artist (I think her name was Melody?), all the while being entertained by their fantastic DJ whose name I cannot recall.

The first thing I did when I arrived in Melbourne was go to the Yeojin Bae warehouse sale. Left with the Vintage Lace Marnie Dress in porcelain from her Kaleidoscope Summer 08 collection for just $50!

Although I bought tickets to Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton (the opening night of Marc Jacobs on Film, part of Melbourne Spring Fashion Week) and was very excited to meet Bryan Boy, I wasn't able to go at the last minute due to illness. Boo. Nevertheless I had a great weekend! Mr (Mrs?) Sportsgirl is officially my hero.

On Monday I visited Street: a Melbourne Street Fashion.com Exhibition, which was alright but the place was empty and the exhibition wasn't nearly as big as I expected. It was only a handful street fashion pictures on the walls. Great concept though!

Aren't Melbourne's laneways charming?

xoxo,
Coco

PS: If you're ever in Melbourne, the Camberwell market is a must. It is AMAZING. It's so worth the trip out of the city at 7 on a Sunday morning!
