Thursdays I'm in love

Sportsgirl bandeau, beanie and necklace | Vintage lace bodysuit | Chronicles of Never Neo jeans | Tristan Blair Suesan heels

It's high summer, and along with the excess melanin and ubiquitous grains of sand from days spent lazing on the beach, there always seems to be a vast freedom of emotion that seems to accompany the vertiginous mercury levels. I've spent the last few weeks fluctuating between giddy laughter and silent tears, romance and repulsion, excitement and disappointment, business and boredom. As you might have gathered, it's been a crazy month, so I apologise for the lack of posts.

To the ladies and gentlemen from Adelaide, you'd do well to get your arses along to Youthworks before it closes in March. There's 50-75% off everything - I got these $300 Chronicles of Never jeans for $75! (Definitely up there with the giddy/exciting moments of recent times.)

Not running away but will be back

Hello everyone!

I've decided to take a short break from blogging. But not to worry, Coco will be here keeping the blog alive while I'm gone, with an exciting competition and lots more! I will leave you with some photos we took back in spring that I never had the chance to post up.

Wearing Sass and Bide Hulsey Strutters, random mens t-shirt, vintage bag, diy necklace, Diva leather cuff, Jeans West hat and Aldo square toe heels.

Oh, for the smell of fixer

Six Twenty Four maxi dress | vintage floppy felt hat | Sportsgirl heels

Nothing like stripes to add height where it doesn't exist. A few months ago I won this tailor-made dress from local designer Six Twenty Four through local Adelaide blog Friend in Fashion. (Off topic, but Miss FIF is a total babe, and even prettier in real life.) It's enough hippie, billowy goodness to make even Rachel Zoe proud. Thanks Alice and Jasmin!

It's taken a few months, but I thought I'd share a few images I snapped and processed when I was studying black and white film photography last year. Hate to say it, but my $700 Canon 30D will never be quite the same as my dad's old Canon 630 I rummaged out of the filthy cesspool known as his office.

WWWD Feature

source: whowhatwear.com

Big thank you to Who What Wear for featuring me and 5 other bloggers on their January Style Stalker. You can read the full article here. Also another big thanks to The Shoes Collection for their feature as well. Sorry for the blur photo, I took it straight off the website but couldn't maintain the original size.

Also, I'm so sorry for not replying to any comments this week. The thing is, I can't actually comment on a lot of blogs cos blogger seems to think I'm not logged in for some reason. So I log out and log in again but everytime I type a comment and post it, it doesn't turn up. It's happened so many times that I've given up. Anyone who knows how to rectify this, please do let me know!

So I'll just reply to everyone's comments here.
"Thank you everyone for your sweet and flattering comments, I really appreciate it! Also, thank you so much for reading and supporting Coco and I at Not So Naked. We hope to bring more photos and all things fashion. xx, Amanda"

As promised, the rest of the photos from the shoot

Wearing Topshop Boutique beaded cropped top, Topshop black bodycon dress, Topshop tights, Isabel Marant knock-offs from The Shoes Collection, chain necklace from Forever New and Sportsgirl ring.

Photography by Nina Ng

You can purchase the shoes from The Shoes Collection. The owner of the blogshop is based in Kuala Lumpur and she ships overseas as well. Her prices are really reasonable and if you purchase up to 3 pairs of shoes from her, you are entitled to a VIP discount of 5% plus free postage. I hope you like these photos as much as I do. Nina did an awesome job. It was so much fun working with her in the wee hours of the morning.
xx, Amanda

PS: Just wanna say a big thank you to ShanteƩ of Fashionista101 for featuring me on her site as Fashionista of the Week.

PPS: Readers who are not from Malaysia and who want to purchase shoes from The Shoes Collection, all you have to do to work out the price in your own currency is to check out the latest exchange rate at your local bank. For Australian readers, the price in AUD is a third of the Malaysian Ringgit. You can email the blogshop owner Cassandra for more information at theshoescollection@live.com

Dance till you're dead

American Apparel Cotton Spandex Jersey Bandeau Pencil Dress | Vintage lace top | Vintage Midas Private Collection boots | Cat ear headband (I really want to wear this out one day!)

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs were in Adelaide on Tuesday and I saw them from the very front of the screaming masses. So close, indeed, that when Karen O jumped into the crowd she gave me her microphone! I have a few pictures, but they're fairly average since security confiscated my Canon, leaving me with my prosumer Fuji. More photos up soon! In the mean time, there's a fantastic review at Save 2! 4!.

Hope you like the new header - we're currently adjusting the site so sorry if everything's a little messy for a while.

PS Thanks to Fashionista 101 for featuring me as their girl of the week! (Non-edited answers this time, hah!)

two oh one oh

Diva earrings and rings | bec & bridge for Sportsgirl one piece swimsuit | Vintage tulle skirt

2010 is finally here, and rather than making doomed resolutions or reminiscing on the year just passed, I find myself pondering pronunciations. Seriously, is it 'two thousand and ten' or 'twenty ten'? I'm leaning toward the former.

This New Year's Eve was interesting, since I won tickets to see Ladyhawke, Muscles and the Bang Gang Deejays live on Sydney Harbour, which resulted in plenty of obnoxious excitement from me. A friend and I had planned a road trip to Sydney since flights were booked out, but the car broke down just when we needed it most, so we had to bail. Despite our disappointment, we managed to pseudo-organise some last-minute shenanigans at a local public pool.

Anyway, you may have noticed that I have made a short disappearance over Christmas but I am certainly not going anywhere. Here's to making the most of life in 2010, even when things don't go our way.
