Adelaide Laneway Festival 2010

The XX
Sarah Blasko
Whitley
Mumford and Sons

Vintage slip | Diva bracelet and rings | Vintage quilted bag and sunglasses | Betts Ratty sandals
A quick summary of the excellence that was Laneway Festival 2010:
  • Echo and the Bunnymen's lead singer seemed to have found his cigarette more interesting than his own music.
  • Considering the ethereal brilliance of their album, The XX were shockingly dull live.
  • Mumford & Sons are worth every bit of hype. The entire crowd was engaging in an epic hoe-down by the end of the set.
  • Florence's metre-long fringing on the back of her top kept getting caught on various items on stage, from the mic stand to a drum. Her shoes were also amazing.
  • I thought Sarah Blasko was a babe, until her gratuitous flash of underarm bush.
  • Security wouldn't let my camera in, so I had to miss Kid Sam and Dappled Cities while I ran to grab a disposable camera. Annoyance level: one freaking million out of ten. Hence the rubbish photos.

You are the only exception

Sportsgirl one-shouldered bodysuit | Vintage belt, skirt and jewellery | Sportsgirl lace-up heels

  • My lovely new (to me) Canon Speedlite 420EX came in the mail today and for the price, I could not be happier.
  • I'm finally learning how to sew properly, too - I hemmed this skirt yesterday without rendering it completely useless. so there's an improvement.
  • Thanks to the friend I've known longest for this awesome gold horse belt!
  • Did a quick photoshoot yesterday under the melting midday sun, but it was all worth it for this photo:

Glitter days

A very talented friend had to take a series of portraits of me for her photography course, and here are the results. We wanted the series to have the innocent freedom of a little girl playing dress-ups, hence the unconventional styling (everything's vintage, except the Sportsgirl floral leggings). I've never felt more like a fairy.

Lonely in your arms

Vintage fur coat | Bardot sequinned dress

Here are a couple of self-portraits I shot this morning in the search for some images with a wintery feel. I've been procrastinating tags for a while, so here we go!

  • What are you wearing right now?
A smile.
  • Post a picture that means “summer” to you.
That's impossible! I could never decide...summer is laziness, sand, freedom, smiles, sweat, late nights, ridiculous game, fond memories, dresses, spooning, moscato, and good music. No image, lyric, or prose could ever capture that - it's too precious.
  • What tracks are essential on your summer play list?
The entire Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging soundtrack.
  • What is your fave piece of clothing from the Sportsgirl summer collections?
The awesome feather cape from the Animalistic collection. Edgy yet super versatile.
  • Describe your perfect summer…
Oh, I've planned the perfect summer! I'm going to spend a summer being homeless and cycling across Europe, possibly busking on the way.

The Rules -
1. Open your 1st photo folder
2. Scroll to the 10th picture
3. Post the photo and the story behind it

This image was part of a personal project to pictorially document my goals for the next five years. It's a bit cryptic, but it has to do with my career goal.

Feel free to tag yourself!
