Local girl Nichol Brooklyn photographed Amanda & I the other day in my room for the Adelaide Fashion Collective blogger collaboration. We had actually planned to go to a location nearby when we decided to get our Selby on and do the shoot in my room. Check that level of cleanliness, it SO trumps godliness. hah.

Adelaide events and sales: sass & bide Warehouse Sale, It's the New Black, LAX store

...Le Soir fashion parade at the Highway is this Thursday at 8, featuring designs from Kaviar, Trims for Jeans and Shine on Sea. Entry is free.

...the event will be repeated on Friday at 12 during a two course Lunch on the Deck. Tickets are $55 in support of ovarian cancer research.

...sass & bide's Warehouse Sale begins on Friday! It's at Unley Town Hall, this weekend only from 10 am. I'll be there on Friday, so say hello if you see me!

...It's the New Black has started its summer clearance with up to 90% off.

...LAX has a pop-up shop where Raw Sugar used to be with at least 50% off everything. Sale starts on Friday 30 April.

One of my best mates photographed me for her assignment entitled 'The City Life' - here are my favourite shots. In other news, I dyed my hair pink on Tuesday! I keep trying to convince myself I could be Abbey Lee with my fringe, pink dip dye and nose ring, but let's be honest, I bear closer resemblance to a mermaid. (Or a My Little Pony perhaps?)

Wearing vintage diy blazer, Topshop mesh tunic over Forever 21 cutout boob tube and Topshop tulip skirt, random studded belt from Malaysia, Burberry Prorsum inspired boots from theshoescollection, Sportsgirl pearl cluster ring, Diva bangles and two other vintage rings.

I'm so glad that shoulder pads are back! My boyfriend isn't. Haha! We took these photos one night cos we were bored and thought a photoshoot at my place would be cool. Especially in my hallway, which I think it getting pretty photo friendly since most of my (and housemates) unwanted clothes and shoes have been given away.

I recently received two pairs of boots from Cassandra and Winnie, owners of Malaysian blogshop The Shoes Collection and I am so very pleased with them. They are so comfortable and I love that the heel is amazingly high. I'm planning on wearing these with some ankle and thigh high socks next time.

Thought I'd mention that Tom's brother Ritchie took the first two and last two photos. It was also his idea to do the bath tub shot. Pretty impressive for a 9 year old.

Peter Morrissey for Big W Yoga bag

Am I the only one who was left wondering if Peter Morrissey had gotten designer's block and given up? He fell off the radar for a few years after his label Morrissey was sold by Oroton. Nevertheless, in what seems to be a completely out-of-the-blue collaboration, he began a clothing and lingerie line for Big W last year. Um, how have I not seen this?! (Oh, right. Because trips to Big W generally involve the scent of pet food and fake leather wafting through the store, something for which I have little tolerance.) Apparently the discount department store is taking a new direction, having released an official Gossip Girl capsule collection as well.

What I'm trying to say is that for $39, this is a half decent gym bag. Hey, it's worth a venture in the store, at least. Report back if you see it in person - Peter Morrissey for Big W's new handbag collection drops 20th April.

Hello holidays

Vintage lace dress and beret | I Love Billy 'Verges' heels

An impromptu technology perv session at Diamonds today resulted in the purchase of a lovely new EF 50mm 1:1.8 II lens. These are the first shots - as you can see, we're still getting used to it. I feel as if I've paid $135 for a new friend. It may be quiet, but I feel a connection.

Rachel of These Colored Shadows recently interviewed and sketched Amanda and I - what an honour. It's so peculiar for me to be the interviewee and not the one with all the questions!

Chain me up in gold

I've gotten into diy jewellery lately and now that I'm on my mid-semester break, I've got heaps more time to actually make something.

This my version of the harness necklace by people's couture. I'm thinking of adding more chain to it, but this will do for now.

Wearing vintage silk skirt and lace bralet, Nose bag, Tony Bianco clogs, diy necklace, Mimco bow necklace and Bardot necklace worn as bangle.

I'm very excited about the Sass and Bide warehouse sale coming up! Don't know how it's gonna be, I'm actually quite nervous about the crowd of crazy shoppers who are gonna be there. One thing's for sure though, I'm saving up for it! See you there!

...Cult denim store Right Hand Distribution is holding a launch party tonight for the Neuw jeans range. They're giving away beer, denim and beats from 6.

...North Adelaide Vintage and Fashion Fair is this Sunday. You know the drill.

...RSVP by tomorrow to attend the launch of local jewellery designer Stav Labrinidis' 2010 collection. It's next Tuesday from 7 at the Promothean.

...we missed out last time, but the Sass & Bide warehouse and sample sale is coming to town this year! Can't wait to bag a heap of $50 jeans and $100 dresses (if it's anything like last time). Details are yet to be released, but I can confirm it's 30 April - 2 May. You heard it here first!

This post is dedicated to the child slaves working on the Ivory Coast to produce the cocoa for the chocolate that we eat here in Australia. Cadbury, Nestle, Kraft and Mars are all abusing kids as young as five in order to sell cheaper chocolate. How ironic, then, that sales of unethical chocolate spike over Easter - a celebration of love, generosity and equality. Buy fair trade chocolate to support fair pay and conditions for workers in developing countries. Don't trade lives.
