Get your Selby on

Vintage polka dot shirt | Vintage DIY leather shorts | Vintage necklace | Vintage Tony Bianco boots

Local girl Nichol Brooklyn photographed Amanda & I the other day in my room for the Adelaide Fashion Collective blogger collaboration. We had actually planned to go to a location nearby when we decided to get our Selby on and do the shoot in my room. Check that level of cleanliness, it SO trumps godliness. hah.

These are just the outtakes - the actual shoot is on Adelaide Fashion Collective. You can check out Nichol's blog here.

The city life

Vintage polka dot shirt | bec & bridge for Sportsgirl leotard | Vintage DIY shorts | Vintage Tony Bianco boots | Vintage backpack

One of my best mates photographed me for her assignment entitled 'The City Life' - here are my favourite shots. In other news, I dyed my hair pink on Tuesday! I keep trying to convince myself I could be Abbey Lee with my fringe, pink dip dye and nose ring, but let's be honest, I bear closer resemblance to a mermaid. (Or a My Little Pony perhaps?)

We were bored

Photos by Tom

Wearing vintage diy blazer, Topshop mesh tunic over Forever 21 cutout boob tube and Topshop tulip skirt, random studded belt from Malaysia, Burberry Prorsum inspired boots from theshoescollection, Sportsgirl pearl cluster ring, Diva bangles and two other vintage rings.

I'm so glad that shoulder pads are back! My boyfriend isn't. Haha! We took these photos one night cos we were bored and thought a photoshoot at my place would be cool. Especially in my hallway, which I think it getting pretty photo friendly since most of my (and housemates) unwanted clothes and shoes have been given away.

Also, don't forget to join our giveaway by Beaut Vintage and stand a chance to win a gorgeous vintage gold lion's head necklace! The competition is open to our Australian as well as international readers until 20th May 2010.

More from the restroom

Wearing vintage tweed jacket, Topshop mesh cross seam tunic over Princess Highway lace bodysuit and Topshop bodyson skirt, Charles & Keith bag, gifted necklace and booties from theshoescollection

I recently received two pairs of boots from Cassandra and Winnie, owners of Malaysian blogshop The Shoes Collection and I am so very pleased with them. They are so comfortable and I love that the heel is amazingly high. I'm planning on wearing these with some ankle and thigh high socks next time.

Thought I'd mention that Tom's brother Ritchie took the first two and last two photos. It was also his idea to do the bath tub shot. Pretty impressive for a 9 year old.

Hello holidays

Vintage lace dress and beret | I Love Billy 'Verges' heels

An impromptu technology perv session at Diamonds today resulted in the purchase of a lovely new EF 50mm 1:1.8 II lens. These are the first shots - as you can see, we're still getting used to it. I feel as if I've paid $135 for a new friend. It may be quiet, but I feel a connection.

Rachel of These Colored Shadows recently interviewed and sketched Amanda and I - what an honour. It's so peculiar for me to be the interviewee and not the one with all the questions!

In other news, the Sass & Bide sale has been confirmed to be at Unley Town Hall. (Join us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with the latest!)

Chain me up in gold

I've gotten into diy jewellery lately and now that I'm on my mid-semester break, I've got heaps more time to actually make something.

This my version of the harness necklace by people's couture. I'm thinking of adding more chain to it, but this will do for now.

Wearing vintage silk skirt and lace bralet, Nose bag, Tony Bianco clogs, diy necklace, Mimco bow necklace and Bardot necklace worn as bangle.

I'm very excited about the Sass and Bide warehouse sale coming up! Don't know how it's gonna be, I'm actually quite nervous about the crowd of crazy shoppers who are gonna be there. One thing's for sure though, I'm saving up for it! See you there!

It is done, Happy Easter!

Wearing leather jacket from eBay, Agnes B floral top, Shilla skirt, vintage belt and bag, Sportsgirl necklace and Wittner ballerina pumps.

Hope everyone had a great Easter and had lots of chocolates!

A glass and a half of hope

Adam + Eve biker jacket | Sportsgirl necklaces | Padini top | Vintage maxi skirt | Witchery 'Amber' sandals

This post is dedicated to the child slaves working on the Ivory Coast to produce the cocoa for the chocolate that we eat here in Australia. Cadbury, Nestle, Kraft and Mars are all abusing kids as young as five in order to sell cheaper chocolate. How ironic, then, that sales of unethical chocolate spike over Easter - a celebration of love, generosity and equality. Buy fair trade chocolate to support fair pay and conditions for workers in developing countries. Don't trade lives.
