Desert song

Nabbed this printed tunic from Kmart as well as some other things a few weeks ago. I was actually quite impressed with the selection they had in the bargain area, and you know me, I can't resist a good bargain.

The new rugby shirt

Equip studded headband | Vintage Cue shirt | Vintage Sportsgirl shorts | Vintage Midas ankle boots (last seen here)

I know I haven't posted much personal photography lately, I've been so busy snapping events and portraits that I haven't done much creative shooting. I've always wanted to to the stereotypical slow shutter city night one, though, so my friend ABC and I collaborated to take this image from the middle of King William Road. (Note to self: bring tripod to NYC.)

Night lights and fireflies

You've probably seen this Christopher Kane bodysuit everywhere but I only got my hands on it when I was in Malaysia. Practically everything in Topshop was 30-50% off! My cousin Kirsten and I both got ourselves the Christopher Kane embellished skirt as well. I was searching high and low for his leggings but I think they sold out.

So wanna be on holidays

It was such a nice and sunny day at the Botanic Gardens. The lighting was amazing, Tom and I had so much fun taking photos. Especially of the little kids who were running around the place. The best shots we got were of the kids sitting around the pond and eventually getting wet splashing themselves. Sometimes I wish I could go back to when I was a kid, when I was so carefree and I could do anything I wanted without having any responsibilities.

Colorado Girl

Vintage headband, dress, jumper, belt and boots

90 days until I jump on a big jet plane and head to Colorado State University for a semester! Stoked about seeing the world, not stoked about life without tomato sauce. Let's be honest here, all I care about is getting on the cheerleading team, acquiring a ditzy accent, and rocking the whole American college party scene. Anyway, if you go to CSU or even live in Colorado, hit me up! Good times await. (Oh, and if you have any tips on packing six months' worth of clothing into a 20kg suitcase...I NEED TO KNOW!!)

FAQ episode II

Who are your style icons?
C: I'm not sure that I believe in the concept of style icons. Sure, I admire some people's style and would give anything to have Alexa Chung's wardrobe, but at the end of the day, I don't idolise their dress sense to the point that the way I dress is significantly affected by them.
A: I'm like Coco. I don't really have any style icons but definitely wouldn't mind having any of Taylor Momsen's or Kate Moss's clothes. Most of the time I pick up styling ideas from here and there ie. blogs, magazines, on the street.

What other blogs do you read regularly?
C: Death Wears Diamond Jewellery is my all-time favourite blog. It's isn't technically a fashion blog, but the lovely author Sarah is an amazing writer. And how could I not give a shout-out to my wonderful friend/nearly-neighbour Selena? (Of course there's Zanita's blog too, but that's a given, isn't it!)
A: Lately I haven't been reading any blogs regularly because of the mountain of uni work I have on my plate. But I do like Shine By Three, Where Do You Draw Your Dotted Line (you should check out her artwork!) and Kingdom Of Style

What cameras do you use?
A: I use a Canon 350D with a Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 II lens.
C: I use a Canon 30D, sometimes with a Canon 420EX flash and usually with the Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 II lens

What influences inspire your outfits? Is it whatever you feel like putting on or do you base your outfit around a theme?
C: For me, it's about selecting a key piece and styling around that. But honestly, for the most part, it's about how high a heel I can get away with for the day's activities.
A: You will find that Coco and I have similar styling principles.

Why are you both so awesome?
C:
I can't help it, it's a natural phenomenon. aha.
A: Coco's answered for me already.

What's your favourite look for 2010?
C: The magnum.
A: It would have to be the Alexander Wang Spring 2010 RTW collection.

Amanda: I adore your make up...do you do it yourself?
Thanks! Yes, I do. I get ideas from magazines and try to copy whatever I see in there whenever I do my make up.

Coco: Can you give that hat to me?
But then I would be lonely! ;)

Oh, and if you're into this whole tumblr thing, Coco just started one. It's completely irrelevant to this blog, but I thought I'd mention it for all you tumblr freaks. It's bloody addictive.

Vintage Vogue Australia magazines

I've been meaning to scan these since I bought a couple of old Vogue magazines at a local market. Twenty cents isn't half bad for a piece of Australian sartorial history. And although photographic trends have come a long way since March 1989, good styling echoes through the eras; each of these outfits could feature in a modern-day editorial. Who knew Laura Ashley could be so cool?!

Last rays of sunshine

Wearing vintage Cue wrap dress, Wittner 'Brock' studded heels and vintage woven bag.

This dress was originally a little more than too big for me, but the print was so pretty and I love the buttons in the front. So I got it taken in while I was in Malaysia and am so very happy that it fits me perfectly! Can't believe that I actually got this at $20 too!

I grabbed these shoes from the Wittner sale at $50! But because I had a gift voucher I only had to pay $20 for it! I'm so happy with the bargains I'm getting. I don't think I've bought anything full priced this year and I plan to continue that trend.

Also, don't forget to enter our vintage necklace giveaway.

Rymill Park

Vintage Christian Dior top | Vintage DIY Lisa Ho shorts | Betts 'Naughty' studded wedges | Vintage bag

I may or may not have been considering jaywalking across East Terrace in the first two photos. There is a shiny thing above and to the left of my head which I noticed just in time to turn back to the footpath after these photos were taken - it was a police motorcycle. I am Too Cool to look at the camera.

Oh, and this camel skin bag is the coolest thing out. It smells like it's straight out of the desert, fo' realz.

Leave a comment to enter our giveaway, people. It's actually awesome.

Sunday morning rain is falling

Wearing Kate Moss for Topshop leather jacket, Princess Highway lace bodysuit underneath Stussy mesh net oversized top, Sass & Bide silver rats, Aldo 'Saric' square toed pumps, diy gold body harness and Topshop clutch.

If any of you haven't been receiving replies from me on your blogs, it's because I still have problems with commenting on some of your pages. Google just doesn't seem to think that I have logged in and every time I click 'post' it doesn't save my comment! I'm so sorry! I will reply soon from another computer.

On another note, I'm heaps happy that I finally got S&B Rats!
