When it comes to photography, I'm defiant about valuing quality over quantity. Sometimes my filter is a little too harsh, though, and I eliminate photos that in retrospect were actually alright. Here are a few I scooped out from the depths of my hard drive.

How to successfully turn 20

Hey kids, I have a few tips for you on how to have a great birthday weekend. 

1. Spend the weekend Melbourne, that backwater over the border. Sure, you might have to put up with a few Vics, but it's worth it for the sample sales in Fitzroy and $4 pizza at Lucky Coq.

2. Have macarons for the first time. It doesn't get any better than salted caramel flavour.

3. Enlist a talented friend to follow you around with a guitar to provide a soundtrack to your monumental day. Eating hot cross buns in mushroom-populated woods is that much better when jazzy melodies are pirouetting through the air. 

4. Catch up with a friend you haven't seen in months. Commit the memories to film, because when your memories fail, chemistry won't.

When Mimco presented me with the concept for their new collection, which references the '50's and '60's, I instantly knew what kind of a shoot I wanted to do. My friend Alex played a woman of the era: outfitted with more than just clothing, but also class and sensuality. And what a woman she is!
